This is at least the second, if not third, book that is basically the author flexing their knowledge and obsession with horror films. Stop trying to be Scream.

I almost stopped reading the book early on because the protagonist is that insufferable, it’s a tribute to Stephen Graham Jones’ writing that I’m still engaged.
