It’s okay. Generations of women, poorly treated by men, generational trauma. The struggles with trying to figure out exactly where you belong when you have ties to multiple countries, but don’t cleanly fit in a single one. I’ll keep reading because of the line about how the mother was murdered and the A+ use of adjectives.

Not loving this book. It feels… too drawn out? I don’t know. That said, many thanks for making me aware of some cool Italian musicians from the 70s (which also makes me wonder if the protagonist is just a hipster, or this story takes place in the 70s)…

On the one hand, I find the choice of adjectives amusing, but on the other hand, they feel like filler to meet a word count since they’re used so liberally… but then perhaps they read differently in the original language. I’m also not quite sure when we’re in reality and when we’re in a dream… the scene where the museum comes alive is a hoot.
