It is bad luck that I am reading this with HLBC and my life is a hot mess. Messy real life and messy fictional life make for a shit soup. I'm so ready for this to be over...both the book and the life messes! 😩

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I loathe Dostoyevsky. I try so hard...I've read Crime and Punishment, Brother's K, and now I'm punishing myself with this one. I just don't get what everyone loves...or (and this is unusual for me) what makes him great?

I loved him when I was a kid- but I need to give him a reread. I did not read this, I read "Demons" and "The Brothers Karamazov". I loved him then, but not so sure now. I find so many depressed writers (who happen to be white dudes) so overdone!
