This is a comprehensive account on the philology and history of Christian creeds. Their ecclesiology hints at the underlying political features of them. The relationship between fides quae creditur and fides qua creditur is also discussed, but is not the main purpose of the book. While the reader will gain a firmer grip on the nature of confessions, one wonders how much eisegesis is within them. Four stars.
