I would’ve beat the H outta that doll just for good measure. 🥊 sitting on the counter smelling brownies. No! She would’ve been on the ground, porcelain cracked and everything. Jk okay I loved this ending. I love these books. I think children’s literature heals me a bit inside. I’m still a child, clearly. Anyway… off to watch Sarah’s oil (pt 2)with a hunking slice of chocolate cake. I’m starving also

Omg. I would’ve beat the CRAP out of that doll. Wasn’t expecting it to take a horrer-esque turn but jeez LouisIANA, they’re out into the bayou in juju land, so I should’ve. I love Kimberly Griffiths Little. At the ripe age of 23 I’m on the edge of my seat with a middle school book. I love her because she brings me back to my childhood and THRILLS me as an adult. I love her. Bye!! Gotta read ALL of them now

I can’t believe I never read this, in all the time I’ve had it, especially since I raved and ranged and still absolutely adore When the Butterflies Came. Somehow I never got around to reading it, or Circle of Secrets, expect when I finished like half when I was sixteen. I really enjoyed it so I have no idea why I stopped. Just happenstance. Time and place. Oddly. Anyway I’m LOVING the southern gothic vibes

SilverStar Mmm mmm mmm. Y’know I’m addicted to the Bayou at this point. Going Gaga for it. But tonight I had a really great time binging not one baby, but TWO, nearly THREE chapters. (Jajaja). Idk why I set it down again. I’m absorbed now. I can already predict, and I predicted from the MOMENT they said Miss Anna’s eyes slid towards the doll that she was the villian. I knew she had it in her.
And now I’m thinking that the curse revolves around the doll and that Miss Anna lives on inside of her somehow, as her namesake, names of course, being powerful things.
It’s very well done. I always love Kimberly Griffiths Little books and I love mysteries. She’s so good at writing great children’s books. I almost yearn for being able to have read it when I was younger because I would’ve DEVOURED it. As it is, I can’t remember why I never did, because I must’ve read the intro a thousand times now, and been sucked into that world for a brief flash before giving it up again. It’s a GREAT intro so why did I betray it and stop reading until I was twenty two? (Twenty three tomorrow, sigh, boo, hiss. We’ll never know). 😔
But in all seriousness, I truly an enjoying it. And half hesitant to put anything on Goodreads anymore after they demolished years worth of my baths, sweat and tears. 🤬
