Vidja told Raman about it being her foult of her father's brain damage. She hasn't told anyone else that, not even her mother. Raman is moving to america and I think that Vidja might come too.

Raman said that Vidya was beautiful. I think that Raman and VIdya will try to get married at the end of the book but it won't happen because the war gets in the way. I think that they will visit her friends in bombay again.

Raman treats Vidya as an equal and that is why Vidya likes him (as a friend). I think that he already is in love with her. I think that they will like eachother eventually.

Raman gave Vidja a notebook where she can right her thoughts in. The book is called climbing the stairs and I think that I know why it's called that; every time she climbs the stairs of the house to go to the library she is pushing the boundaries and challenging what she has been told is right.

Her dad is a freedom fighter for the Indians. for some reason she is keeping that secret. Her friend is a Jew and I think the Nazis will have to do with this.
