I loved the whole ‘moon daughter’ dialogue. Too long to type, unfortunately.

- I bit my lips shut, more afraid that I would gasp aloud than that their white teeth would end me.

- “Just how many warlords have you met, Lina?”
I put up both my hands to indicate dozens. Hundreds. It was the truth, but of course Takkan thought I was joking.
- Too soon, Megari's song would become a memory as well.
- “[...] she wore a thimble on her head so no one would know she was actually a daughter of the moon lady.”

- Only a few months ago, I'd been just like her. Young, and wanting to treasure every moment because I feared it'd be the last. Impatient, for a year felt like an eternity. Now I felt older than the moon.
- I knew that tone. I had practically invented it when I wanted something from my brothers.
- I wished I could laugh. [...] But I settled for a smile, the widest I'd had in a long time.

I love everything about this.

I am SO, so excited! I love Shiori's conversations with both Seryu and Takkan. Seryu is admittedly my favourite, and seeing the friendship between the two is so sweet. Takkan is also so obviously a kind and sincere character—I can't even type them out or else I'd just be transcribing the chapters I read.

The story is definitely starting to pick up. At first, it was hard to continue reading, but now it's hard to put down! I'm interested to see the dynamic between Shiori and the Northerner characters, especially Takkan.
