how is it!

I’m really enjoying it!! Milton’s writing is truly beautiful. It is not very accurate to the Bible so I wouldn’t read it for a biblical study, for that I’d point you to Genesis 1-3 (and Milton inserts a bunch of his beliefs into it which are not exactly orthodox), but as a work of fiction I think it’s quite enjoyable.

Plus I’ll add that I don’t like his depiction of God (I feel like that is where you see most how much Milton inserts of his own beliefs and positions), but I think his depiction of Adam and Eve is stellar character work, very compelling. Again, not very accurate to the real story, but in the context of Paradise Lost those two have been the highlights for me I think.

nice! i’ll check it with this in mind! funnily enough i didn’t even realize the plot had to do with the bible. it’s just never crossed my mind to actually look up the synopses for the greats like chaucer or milton haha
