Picked this up for an online Buddhist book club I joined. Some simple stories expressing Buddhist teachings, but really interesting to see the sort of populist Shin angle.

Kumiko How are you enjoying this so far? It's on my list to read.

Chad Kohalyk It is very accessible, that's for sure. Some of the specific Shin vocab and concepts come up, but they are not really explained to my satisfaction. I am reading this in a Shin book club, so I am lucky to be able to ask questions and get clarification. It is a pretty fast read, and I have read some pretty great stories so far. This is the first Shin book I have read, and I was hoping it would give me some basis for comparison with regards to Zen or Theravada which I have read a lot more about. I am definitely getting a sense of what is different, but it isn't meant to be a comparative analysis. These are my impressions so far.
