wow, the last 15% or so has been awesome. this is definitely going to be a four star book.

i have to confess that i was getting a little bored the third fifth of this book, but Simmons has pulled it together i think.

What??!! Sol has caved in? After all his resistance he has SACRIFICED HIS DAUGHTER? I cannot see how i can forgive Simmons for doing this. I actually feel betrayed. At the moment the message seems to be that human intellect has to bow its knee before 'higher truth', that all philosophy and thought is no more than the rejection of what innocent humanity knows.
