- it never ceases to amaze me how medicine doesn't take women's heart conditions as seriously as men's; like how women's heart attack symptoms are "atypical" - when that's 50% of the population
This chapter is just infuriating

- apparently the fear of "getting bulky from weight lifting" started ages ago and was backed by medicine, which is stupid and infuriating. But this chapter also brought up talks of true anatomic differences and their related injuries (I.e women are more prone to ACL tear) and how there's a lack of research or efforts to prevent

Bones ✔️
It's amazing and utterly terrifying how early medicine was manipulated to feed sexist and racist beliefs.
And doctors simply ignored facts that directly contradicted their bigoted beliefs

Skin ✔️
- There's a complicated relationship between encouraging empowerment and succumbing to beauty standards when it comes to cosmetic procedures and both sides are really well illustrated in this chapter
