After pages and pages of pathetically boring build-up, the H/h finally bump uglies. The encounter is devoid of personality and any real emotion. Also, the heroine won't let herself reach orgasm. Because that would be bad? IDK about this book. IDK. O__o

The heroine in this story is soooooooooo boring. Every time the narrative changes to her perspective, it's like all brain power stops and takes a nap. She isn't TSTL. She just doesn't think anything. *Yawn*

WTH? And that other one was so enjoyable, too! Gah, I'm probably going to have to read it myself and see what's what. My friends' review range from 5 stars to 3, so IDK either.

Rachel (BAVR) The other Ashworth book is awesome because of the mystery and creepy house. This one, however, bores the piss out of me. There's a murder mystery, but they never seem to talk about it. And if the hero or the letters from his dead sister call the heroine "fascinating" or "interesting" one more time, I'm going to scream. I've read instruction manuals that weren't as boring as the heroine. :D

Does the book read like stereo instructions?

(Sorry, it's Friday and I'd rather be on my butt at home watching Beetlejuice. :P)

Hmm, I think I know what you mean. The other Ashworth had a mystery that was woven throughout the whole book. It wasn't some lame little backdrop for the H and h to enact all their lame uninteresting wangst.

The Cara Elliot book I just slogged through had NO PLOT apart from the last-minute "Curses, she's a criminal forger!" that got cleared up in about a dozen pages. The majority of the book was "I want to sex him/her up!", sexing him/her up, getting encouraged by others to sex him/her up, and that was about it. Blah. Why did I give it 3 stars again? Oh yeah, it read fast and I didn't have an apoplectic fit.

Rachel (BAVR) If you read this book and like it, don't hate me for trashing it. :D But I don't think you'll like it. Too boring.

Also, that book in the picture looks super cool. "Handbook for the Recently Deceased" = HELL YEAH!
