I mean I should have been prepared for this to start with a 90 page introduction that reads like a light, helpful and informative essay but I was not and it was not what I wanted to read at 9pm on a weeknight when I thought I was gonna jump into some epic poetry.

I read 10 pages of the intro, saw the length, and skipped to the Translator’s Note
