God, third-act breakups are such a bad plot device! This one is especially ridiculous because after 5 years of open communication respecting each other's boundaries and secrets, FMC uncharacteristically goes off the rails, making wild assumptions and acting maliciously immature without having a conversation with MMC about it. Nothing is lazier than a miscommunication trope JUST for the sake of drama. Fuck that.
