“had she really thought i would not know him? i could recognize him by touch alone, by smell; i would know him blind, by the way his breaths came and his feet struck the earth. i would know him in death, at the end of the world.” ⭐️

“name one hero who was happy.” “you can’t.” he was sitting up now, leaning forward.
“i can’t.”
“i know. they never let you be famous and happy, i’m going to be the first.” he took my palm and held it to his. “because you’re the reason.”
the most absurd sentence that has ever entered my memory. how my soul supposed to know the meaning of love before these words, i truly do not know.

best part of my day is whenever i pick up this book! already reached all time fav status. first kiss, achilles refusing to leave without him and patroclo’s inner monologue every single time he looks at achilles… you can LITERALLY feel the love radiating off the pages ❤️🩹 and the warmth of their bond in every sentence. some of the most beautiful scenes in art/storytelling ever !!!
