This book is in serious need of an editor... characters act with no logic or continuity, even within the same scene. For example, I just read a scene where a woman wakes up, panicking because she's late for work. Her male companion ignores this and offers her breakfast. She sits down and enjoys a leisurely meal without protest. Then, he says there's a car waiting to take her back to her hotel.
