Started proverbs same as Ecclesiastes and Job in that they are wisdom literature. There are three types of individuals talked about in proverbs. It’s the wise fool, and simple person. Proverbs starts with father’s advice to his son and ends with mother’s advice to son.

Finished Song of Songs (or in other versions of the Bible Song of Solomon) “Many theologians have thought that this book is an allegory showing Christ’s love for his church, it makes even better sense to say that it is a love poem about a real human love relationship, and all that loving, committed marriages reflect God’s love”

Started 2Chronicles details the reign of Solomon , the kingdom splits into two Judah (southern kingdom) & Israel (northern kingdom). Judah’s kings will be highlighted as this is the line of Jesus. Will be going thru Psalms & 1Kings , in. chronological order of Israel’s history

Started 1Kings this is about Solomon’s reign and the reign of all the other kings of Israel and the kingdom divides into Israel & Judah soon after Solomon dies because of his wicked son! Than the downfall off Israel happens. Also going through Psalms.

Finished 1Chronicles this chapter listed genealogies of the Israelites and the roles each family-tribe held were important when they returned from being exiled during the various times of captivity. All because of turning their backs on God, Yahweh.

Finished 2Samuel which tells us about King David’s reign. At the same time going through the Psalms and 1Chronicles, written hundreds of years after incidents occurred.

started 2 Samuel-will be flipping back and forth between several of the books due to reading in Chronological order!

Started Psalms & 1 Chronicles-written 500 yrs after the Israelites returned from exile. It recounts the reign of David.

Finished the book of Ruth! God is only mentioned once, when Ruth tells Noemi that ‘ her God will be my God’ , otherwise God was working behind the scenes in redeeming Noemi’s tragedy into JOY!! From this parental line came king David & King Jesus! Boaz’s mom was Rahab, the prostitute and Ruth a Moabite, enemy of Israel!!
