Not off to a good start. I don’t get why she’s so… chip on her shoulder. I get it the whole woman in a mad world but she’s making herself detestable by all. And also it feels like I was dumped in the middle of a story because it’s all 0 to 100 in 2 paragraphs and I am left so disconnected. I haven’t read the original windy city series either so maybe that’s why? But then why market as standalone?
