is it normal for anthologies celebrating the horror of a certain country to be comprised solely of stories cataloging the major things wrong with the country in question?

also follow up question: do most chinese horror writers use horror as a tool to describe things wrong with their society, and if so, is that the reason why the stories here unanimously have that theme?

why did they hire an audiobook narrator that can't even pronounce the words in mandarin like why even bother doing that. vietnamese is not the same as mandarin not even remotely and I'm sorry but his pronunciation of words is mostly wrong and inconsistent which makes the stories frustrating to follow at times and is overall distracting.
