A very intriguing introduction to the Mara Ellison series. This novella is short, gripping and fast paced. I read it after finishing book two, so it helped connect a few dots and added an extra layer of interest. However, reading it first would not affect the experience of the series. It simply serves as an introduction that gets you invested before the main story begins.
