I am very early on in the book, but I am very interested in the dichotomy between Crenshaw gifted students and the lives of the others around them. The author references this by stating the "[s]tudents who articulate, who excell in class, are accused of 'acting-white' or 'selling out'"(Corwin 4). I find it so interesting that the author is able to hone in on this certain group and explain their unique differences.
