Hum, hum Detta and Odetta. I wonder about King's ability to portray this woman. He does play with the fact that Detta represents an almost cartoonish quality of how a mean black woman would talk and act, but Odetta seems cartoonish too. Wonder why this bothers me now, when it didn't before?
