The writing feels reminiscent of my friend Majesdane’s style, which I’ve always been obsessed with, but in novel form, which is a huge plus right off the bat. Also, both main characters are immediately likeable, IMO, which is another big advantage, since a lot of the other books I’ve tried recently didn’t grab me the way Mara and Aurora have.
