40% into the book before the author starts on the actual subject of the book's title. So far this feels like a science blogger has just repackaged a bunch of their old articles.

So far this has been a pop history summary of the past great extinctions followed by a brief pop history summary of early human migration. I can't say I'm all that impressed with the book up to this point.
