Update: Vampire Academy was written in 2007, not 2013 like I first read... so... yeah...

So yeah... it's still almost identical to Vampire Academy... so much so that I've been able to name each character with their VA counterpart. BUT I looked it up and this book was written two years before VA, so... I guess that would make VA the copy...
