Picked this up after Stevenson's short story collection and I'm beginning to draw a comparison between the two. Stevenson's tales are more atmospheric as is expected of Gothic horror while James' leans more into realism and dry humor. Also, his kind of ghosts aren't the ones you can do something about. Either they leave on their own or you do. Starting to fall in love with it since The Stalls of Barchester Cathedral.
