Urg, that's the problem I have with MP3 CDs. They're so long that finding where you stopped in the story or where one story ends is very difficult unless the manufacturer was kind enough to include a track list.

Hope the technical details don't interfere with your enjoyment of the story.

With Audible and their proprietary .aax audio files, it's even worse than multiple .mp3 files, Berengaria! There is no track list, it's just one very fat .aax file containing all 3 books, with a total hrs:mins length of 24:35 hours!

I looked at Audible's single audiobooks for Zoe Finch #2 and #3 in the series so I could ascertain, by subtraction, that the length of #1, which is not in their library, was 08:31 hours.

Then the problem is that the all 3 books have only one common measurement device, namely the number of chapters in each. Thus, for #1 I have heard 85 of 98 chapters; 85 is 87% of 95, so hence my guess of "87% done"!

I really appreciate your comment, because if I wasn't such an effen pedant, I could have calculated the 87% first off and no one would be any the wiser🤩!

The US library Libby app lets you bookmark the audiobooks, with timestamps etc. The one I use for the Spanish books for the Public Library in Madrid only keeps the latest bookmark, with no timestamp etc. The Google Play Books was worse. I was thinking of Audible but if this is the case I'll pass.

The case of the three stories in one audio file referred to above is definitely an outlier as far as Audible is concerned.

Normally I have no problems at all listening to any Audible book using their app on either my iPhone or my iPad and I always know where I am. What's more, if I have been using my iPhone and switch later on to using my iPad, the app tells me that it has picked up from where I was on the iPhone.

Using the Audible listening app, the normal Audible book screen shows the chapter number, then the length of time (hrs:mins:secs) that you have heard of the whole book, the ditto you have left to hear of the whole book, and the ditto balance of the current chapter you are listening to - it works well.
