Spoiler: The movie adaptation talks scene is uncomfortable with how she prioritizes her own desire to not be involved in the production process over actually pushing for an adaptation with representation. These men keep pushing other white men actors and she only argues because of plot issues and then realizes she doesn’t actually care. Every critic that calls her passive and uninvolved and uninvested is correct
