It’s like reading an alternate reality. If the church hadn’t doubled down on their anti-feminist stance, then there is a very real chance that some of these big ideas could have been integrated quite well with the doctrines already established in the church. I finish each essay and think to myself—wow. These women really had a vision for a more equitable and beautiful future. How sad it did not come to pass.
