Recently stumbled upon this series of contemporary "sequels" to the original Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which is currently my eight-year-old son's favorite movie. Four chapters in, and he is hooked!! The characters are charming (the husband-wife dynamics are just the best), the narration is delightfully British - it's been such a fun family read-aloud.
