It's fine for a sci-fi story, but also quite generic. The method of retelling past events through logs and characters' recollections was its saving grace and the reason I can't give it 2 stars, because it did spice up the otherwise bland story

2/3, 2/5, doesn't work standalone but doesn't work as a continuation of the previous story either

1/3 done, 4 stars, the plot isn't particularly innovative (there are some fun plot twists tho) but the world building is awesome sauce
