Started listening to this on audiobook yesterday and I couldn't possibly recommend it enough to anyone seeking to inform themselves on this topic. I possibly don't align with 100% of Bartov's views, but it can not be understated, that he is one of THE most important Jewish-Israeli academic voices standing tall for humanism and an end to violence and oppression.

Does he address the elephant in the room? Like the whole chosen people ideology, promised land ideology and glorification of enslavement and extermination as divinely ordained?

He does, yes. But I would say it's one part of his overall recounting of the history of Zionism.
