It's a little experimental but very easy to read. I'm making myself stop so i can digest the first third. Fun fact, i'm pretty sure the main character's former name i.e. deadname is from Arabic. "Bekija" sounds a lot like bāqiya (باقية) which is the grammatically feminine form of "remaining," so literally "she who remains."
