Finished reading the Preface to Capital and honestly it was probably my least favourite Althusser work I've read so far.
Splitting wage-labourers into proletarian and non-proletarian camps and lumping students in with petty-borgeois ideologues was not very impressive, and at times the discussion of "class instincts" and political difficulties with reading Capital came across as workerist, bordering on essentialist.

finished the lenin and philosophy essay and wow. we gotta show this one to the new tendency of CU cos it has some beautifully articulated discussions about the relations between philosophy, science, and politics (class struggle) which i think really get to the heart of actionist concerns but elevates them to a materialist and patiently revolutionary reflection. melbourne be prepared cos i might write a lil polemic
