Finished with book one, God Stalk. A fantastic book. It walked the line between comfortable and weird, dark and cozy, tropey and unique very well, unabashedly dancing from side to side. In a vividly imagined, weird city, we follow the exploits of Jame, a reluctant thief, as she learns the history of this city, this world/her people, and her own forgotten past. An extremely enjoyable read

It is difficult to identify why 'Godstalk' struck the imagination harder than a thousand other fantasy worlds. Something evocative about the strange city, something moving in the heroine's power and vulnerability.. much was roughly done; and yet it just all worked.

This second book now moves beyond the city, but it's still very good and fun. This series has some of the coolest lore working in the background, with an inescapable evil devouring world and chasing a people down a chain of multiverses... It feels underknown.
