I found this really interesting as I just read The Anxious Generation for the 2nd time: “between 1990 and 2007 (before any teens had smart phones) the number of mentally ill children rose 35 fold- is this due to overdiagnosis or expansion of definitions?”

Obviously smart phones contribute to poor mental health, but this study was done BEFORE smartphones which has me curious!
