Very bizarre — but very interesting?? I’ve never once considered the Vietnamese American experience to be so specifically speculated in such a dystopian fashion. Perhaps because The Vietnamese American Experience in media has always been so deeply entwined with tall tales of the American Dream romanticization and United States valor/gratitude. Reminds me of Viet Thanh Nguyen’s subversion of that narrative
