You know what hasn't shown up yet? The cool plot described in this book's blurb. Anansi is supposed to be central to the story, but he's yet to put in an appearance. Unless he's disguised as one of the book's hundred other blandish characters.

ESPECIALLY do not feed a cat lo mein! Chances are good there's garlic in it!

Also, given that this is set in the future, I need to know that AI/VR illusions are not normal to the setting significantly before the 30% mark.
