I picked up this book while looking for a gothic mystery with a dark atmosphere, but instead, I got a deeply emotional story of a shapeshifter living in seclusion, loneliness, and despair…borrowing their days of humanity and fleeting moments of simple happiness from the wolf. and paying a heavy price for it later.
