I did enjoy this book but I don’t think it lived up to its blurb.

I didn’t realise that he of the main characters was actually a real person. Now it’s all the more sad.

We take so much for granted in our modern lives. How brutal life was in the distant pasts described in this book.

Another multiple POV and multiple time lines. Doesn’t any recent author write ‘normally’ anymore.
