Ok, back into it and realizing why so many people love this series. Diana Gabaldon really knows how to fully immerse the reader in the story — it feels like you’re right there with the characters, falling in love with them along the way. I don’t want to spoil anything, but I’m definitely flying through this much faster than I did the first quarter!

I’ve wanted to read Outlander for so long, but the length has always intimidated me, so it’s been sitting on my TBR forever. Then it popped up in a read this year (The Correspondent), and I told myself, “OK, it’s time.”

While we were on vacation in the Cape, I found a paperback copy and started reading, which felt like a sign. Historical fiction or romance are not usually my go-to's, and this one is long, but I’ve heard so many amazing things that I’m sticking with it.

I do love Claire—how could you not?

That said… I’ll be honest, I ended up downloading the audiobook because I kept picking it up, putting it down, and getting distracted by other books. Hoping this helps me stay committed and actually finish it.

So far, it’s not as fast-paced as I expected (or hoped), especially given the size. And the series is SO long...

Does it get better??
