Gary K Bibliophile Interested in your review, you must have an ARC. I haven’t been disappointed by his stories yet - from the description this seems a bit different for him 😀

It is an ARC! I read Elder Race (novella), which lead to reading Service Model--one of my top books of 2024. I own several Tchaikovsky audiobooks, and I'm excited to listen to them... everything I've read by him is better than the last! I am loving the book so far. Skotch, the raccoon freelancer (PI) is great. The writing style is definitely unique and somehow brilliantly captures the feel of how a raccoon might think/speak. I'm always cautious about books from other animals' perspectives because they can be gimmicky, but I've yet to get that vibe from Green City Wars. I am adoring the green (sustainable) vibes, as well as the critique of green tech/old tech.

Interesting- Dogs of War has elements of this and I was skeptical at first but in the end that worked out really well. And then there’s Children of Time… that was amazing

Children of Time has been on my list forever. I started listening to the audiobook ages ago, but I wasn't really into audiobooks much at that time, so I DNF'ed pretty early with the intention to try again later. I didn't realize Dogs of War had similar elements--I'll add it to the Tchaikovsky TBR! :P
