Why tf is the narrator for the audiobook pronouncing insulin as “inshulin”

I’m about 4 hours into the audiobook and I’m not bored but like…what are we doing here? So much exposition. Feels like we’re sitting in a see of information and there’s no current pushing us in any direction. Just sitting stagnant.
