"Away from this cursed spot, from this cursed land, where the devil and his children still walk with earthly feet! At least God's mercy is better than that of these monsters, and the precipice is steep and high. At its foot a man may sleep-as a man."

I need to reread this to get the horrifying image of sparkling vampires out of my head...

Tony Wiseman Stoker. What a fabulous writer. Not sure if I've mentioned him to you before but I might have: Cormac McCarthy. Zack Colmenero was reading one of his recently. That guy was a phenomenal author. His content can be very bleak and maybe not for the faint hearted but if you admire eloquent prose, which I know you do, then on that alone McCarthy is phenomenal. Very mature content at times so not sure what your family would say but when the time is right then definitely delve into his books.

Tony Wiseman But yeah regarding Stoker he just sucked you (pun intended) into that gothic landscape with every word. He was a titan of a storyteller.
