The story would be compelling if the writing was, but it’s not. There is a lot of telling and little showing. And honestly some parts of the story are corny and overdone. Will grit my teeth and keep reading in hopes of better to come.

I really hope this book gets better because right now, it’s kind of….corny. For lack of a better word. The premise is solid, but the writing isn’t. There has been some dialogue that sounds like it came out of a Reddit thread or something. It feels like too many stories in one right now, but rooting for this book to grow on me.
