the writing is so luxurious and carmilla is so romantic, laura feels that religious guilt-queer repulsion but also feels seducted and charmed by carmilla and finds her so beautiful ughhh love them (i know the plot is supposed to make me think that lesbianism is wrong but somehow so much homophobia turned into a great doomed horror lesbian story
