Things have finally started happening.

I still don't understand how Nick could forget it was his birthday. Like, what was even the point of that line?

Not terribly impressed with the story so far. It's not so intolerable that I want to DNF it, but it's definitely not one that will go down in history as one of my favorites. There's just something about American writers that I've never been able to connect with despite being an American myself. There's still a lot of journey left on this story and I'm curious where it will take me.

Fitzgerald is incredibly descriptive, but not in a way that feels tedious. I don't normally care for American authors (even though I myself am one) there's something about them that I've never been able to relate to, but this one is changing that opinion. Not even close to finishing this yet and I already can't wait to read more by F. Scott.
