What is it about?!

basically when this girl goes with a couple in a [car they had back then thing… I can’t think of the word], they crash into a River, the wife floats away, never to be seen again, and a doctor assumes the girl and the wife’s husband are the couple while they are unconscious. She plays along! I cannot say why she would want to stay at his home, but the very reason she did is shocking and prompts the entire story. Why, i cannot say. I can’t spoil the rest. But it is very interesting! Hopefully I did not spoil it for you… but that is basically only chapter 1.. maybe 2?
