Getting into some of the battles etc. very well described and faithful to the styling of D&D spells. also like how the protagonist has no sense of plot armor. it really is a struggle for them.

Good so far. Author really paints a scene with as little as one to two paragraphs. Might be because I am very aware of the D&D lore, but eerily good.
