I have to stop reading reviews cos some readers are so dense? Saw several people saying this book is perverse but I think some people are really unfamiliar with queer sex. Nothing in here so far has struck me as weird or perverse. Sometimes it’s sad bc you can see the trauma and self harm going on but… ya that’s being queer in modern America. Will update if I change my mind. It’s not even particularly kinky.

Also ppl saying it’s racist? I think the discussions of race are very enlightening and one of the characters is very defensive and not great in the discussions but she’s written as unreliable and mentally ill. She’s very self absorbed, has internalized misogyny, very stuck in her suffering. The author isn’t racist for writing a dumb character. It genuinely angers me when ppl are soooo bad at reading beyond the page.
